1. Open to public schools serving students in grades 6-8 in Massachusetts
2. Commitment to full adoption of OSE, 100% of 6-8th grade students & teachers
3. Competitive preference for schools/districts with 15% or more of students from low-income backgrounds

November 19, 2025: School Tour – Plymouth Community Intermediate School in Plymouth, MA
December 2, 2025: Webinar
January 22, 2026: School Tour – Fuller Middle School, Framingham, MA
February 4, 2026: Grant App Due
February 26, 2026: Applicants notified of Interview
March 6,9, & 10, 2026: Interviews [Note:" Squad Leaders, School Champions, District Champions & Teacher MUST be present for interviews!]
March 20, 2026: Award Notification
April 15, 2026: Cohort Kickoff Convening in Norwood [Required: Squad Leaders + School Champions & District Champions]
The Massachusetts OpenSciEd grant program provides schools with funding to offset startup costs, including professional learning and durable equipment kits. In addition to financial resources, cohort members receive implementation support from the OSE Mass team, including Leader PL and Community Network Events.
